I usually try and make a big deal out of Valentine's Day just because I can. This year I didn't feel up to too much though. On top of the recovery process I am already going through I decided to get the kid's cold so I haven't been feeling too great. I did, however, decide to make a nice dinner from scratch and the softest yummiest heart shaped sugar cookies. For dinner we had homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches made with homemade bread. After dinner the kids got their boxes of chocolate from Grandma (thank you Grandma!) and a sugar cookie and Donnie and Will snuggled on the couch.
Around lunch time I also got a call from a friend here in town telling me that the water was possibly contaminated with e. coli. The city tested the water supply and one of the samples turned up with e. coli. Whether or not there is actually a danger to us is still not certain so since yesterday we've had to boil any water we want to use. I put three very large pots on the stove as soon as I heard and boiled enough for a few days. No big deal really. I guess there was a run on bottled water in town though. It's crazy how hysterical people can get. Made me realize how important it is to be prepared in an emergency because there were a lot of people buying way more water than they needed and not leaving any for anyone else. Anyway, we are fine and are hoping that some time today they will find out if we still need to be cautious with the water or not. In the picture of the kids you can see some bottled water (Sam brought us some) and the bleach on the counter. Along with boiling some of the water I also put some in the sink with bleach in it that I could use for rinsing out wash cloths and such. Interesting Day.

I have to admit, I have 'Blog Envy'. Meggan, I can't tell you how much I look forward to seeing your amazing pictures and reading about your life in Petersburg! Donnie's post made me bawl. I heard a bit of that story when we were out last year to see you, expecting Will, but I loved getting the whole spirit of it. Your family is gorgeous, what a precious little boy (and big boy and 4 big girls, & Tanner too!) We miss you and wish all the best for your family!
